I found out that my alternator is seized.... how to fix
Well my car is in storage for the past perhaps 3-4 months since I last drove it.
I stared my car yesterday night and the altenator pulley didn't spin. So my guess i that it's stuck.
My garage is underground and does hold some moisture so I could see how it could get seized.... but my question is HOW to get it unseized so that i don't have to replace it... hehe
TIA

hum... any other ideas?
would it be effective is I try to loosen the Pulley Bolt then tighten it back up or would there be a problem with trying to torquing it back up?

DO NOT BUY AUTOZONE OR ADVANCED AUTO alternators. I replaced 4 advanced alternators in 2 days on my DA9 and they tried to tell me it was my fault. I got them to test them and they we bad. Finally the manager tested it and came out to talk to me saying that i was blowing them up. He then proceeded to tell me the diode was gone in it and that something spiked. I responded sarcasticly with well u do understand that the alternator is what produces the electrical current right, so its the only thing that could have spiked. So i finally just asked for my money back since i was replacing the things so much. I could get one out in about 15min including jacking the car up, he wouldnt give me a refund for my core or a core to use so i argued with him for about 30 min and finally got my money for it and got a NAPA unit which has been working ever since. I know a few people that work there and later they told me its cuz he didnt think I would know as much as i did being only 18.

Had a problem like this on a civic, alternator seized, started engine fried the belt off, almost started a fire  I pulled off the old alternator and it was pretty seized, was able to loosen it with a breaker bar and a socket on the big nut. It still seizes up and it got replaced with a new one, but I'm sure I could've pulled the whole thing apart and lubed up the bearings or soaked them in ATF over night and that should've fixed it, but they are so cheap, might as well just replace it.
