saw this a little while ago and it sounded like it could be a nice thing to have for bleeding brakes since you are susposed to be able to do it yourself with it. just wondering if anybody has used one, and how well it worked and how easy it was. thanks.

I've got one my MityVac, it looks a bit different but does the same job.
I'm not impressed for bleeding brakes, but its useful for diagnosing vacuum & solenoid valve problems.
When bleeding brakes by vacuum, air gets sucked in thru the bleeder valve threads. It gets better if you smear a big grease fillet around the base of the bleeder screw, but it still does it. When I get clean fluid (bubbles never quite stop) I quit using the vacuum bleeder. Then I finish up the normal way with someone pumping the brake pedal.
I got a pressure bleeder now... but I haven't actually used it yet.

Like JimBlake, I also have the MityVac
I imagine that the Craftsmen one works the same. I know the frustration with the air bubbles coming through the threads. Even though it has that annoying feature, I prefer using the pump. I'm usually by myself when doing this stuff so it's more convenient for me.

i dont recommend vacuum systems for bleeding brakes. ive used the mityvac and it did not perform well, and was quite tiresome pumping so long.
i recommend pressure systems that mount to the master cylinder instead.
but old fashion way is best. you can teach anyone to pump the brakes while you open the bleeder screw.

well thanks guys, actually a good friend of mine just showed me this http://www.speedbleeder.com/ looks like a lot better way too go, its even cheaper too...
I've tried speedbleeders too. They worked pretty good. Then 2 years later when I wanted to flush brake fluid again, the little checkvalve was rusty & it didn't work so hot.
Maybe in Fla or Az, but I got a feeling that they might use a little salt on the roads in MN...
