Default Harcore tranny problem!

i just had the clutch changed about 3 months ago and this starting about a month ago. When you drive and pull to a stop and jus hold down the clutch pedal (while the car is still in gear) it feels like the clutch isn't disengaged. The car jus stalls while the clutch pedal is pressed in. and a lot of time (actually, most of the time) it's hella hard to shift gears and sometimes it doesn't want to go into gear at all! you really have to work at it to get it in! and the worse thing is that sometimes when the car is in gear and i start the car it pulls forward by itself even though i'm holding down the clutch pedal! wassup w/ this?

i'm thinking it's the throw-out/release bearings, but then again it might be the slave or the master cylinder. it doesn't ALWAYS happen though so i'm leaning towards the bearings. anyone have any ideas? thanx!

When you changed your clutch, did you bleed your clutch?

That could be your symptom...

Well if you didn't do it, it's most likely the problem.

It's kinda like having air in your brakes. You're pushing down on the clutch, but there is not enough fluid to disengage your clutch.

Ok, look under your dash at the clutch pedal. Do you see some fluid leaking?

Are you sure you bleeded it fully? What did you use? One of those hand pump bleeders?

I had to use a power bleeder with mine to get all the air out. Before that, I had the same problem as you.

Good luck.

the system isn't leaking, i'm pretty sure of that. the fluid level never goes down so i don't think it's leaking. as far as bleeding aren't u jus suppose to hook up any old hose and loosen the screw and then press on the clutch pedal? did i do it wrong? when u had the problem did you have it right away of later on? cuz when i first got the new clutch it worked fine in the begining and started acting up like a month later. thanx again!

Just wondering, how do the power bleeders work? And how much brake fluid did you use?

Hmm, well when I did my clutch install, I was forced to use a power bleeder cuz the clutch just fell to the floor. We used a hand pump bleeder for hours, but it didn't work. The clutch would kinda get hard....then go back to soft.

But once we got it working, it was fine. If you say that it's fine, then gets worse, I'd say you probably have a leak somewhere.

Don't be too fast to say you don't have a leak. Look inside the car by the pedal area. Even if you don't see the level drop, you might still be leaking. Remember, fluids don't compress much at all. The tiniest bit leaking might cause you to lose your clutch.

Good luck, keep us posted.

EDIT: As a side note, my master cylinder was leaking.....I saw some leakage by the foot well area so I replaced it with a new generic one from Pep Boys.

I had the same problem in my ej8. When I took it to the Honda dealership, they told me that I had lateral movement on my crankshaft
