Default H22a4 probs...HELP

...hey ... got my type s pistons installed eagle rods oem bearings... started up the car... was runnig perfectly, very quiet.smooth.... took it for a spin... was lovin it....more power... much quicker... picked up 2 of my friends to hit the movies... got on the highway.... I felt like the car slowed down by itself...(like I pressed the brakes lightly)...rpm didnt fall. I shifted out.. like whatd da... F##... shifted back to 5th... ran fine... got to the place.. popped the hood... the engine was extremely loud... it sounded like the pistons were just hammering the valves......then, after driving home (7min) quieted down.. and now I could hear the "valve hitting" but only at about 2600 - 3200 RPMs/everytime I shifted .. its vierd..
...now when I start it from cold it sound very loud....then quiets down almost to nothing.. but after driving for a fewminutes I loose the power and in 3rd.... it feels like 5th... no acceleration.... have no clue whats wrong with it... but im putting a different engine in, something I had.... so ill tear that one up.... and will see

any one has any ideas let me know..... anything will help...
tnx

sounds like bearings put at incorrect clearances, oil starvation, or ur timing is off, did u give it time to break in before u ran the **** outa it??? i mean like 5-800 miles??? what kinda clearances did u get when u reassembled it? do u have any CELS??? Do you have the grounds right?? preludes can be kinda picky on that crap- sounds like that motor is junk tho-

did you replace your autotensioner? Thats about the right RPM where they make noise when they are bad (thats where mine made noise). I just dont know if it would have that effect on the engine unless the timing belt skipped a few teeth.
