I used 0 gauge wire and ran it up to the engine bay. Then get an audio power distributor block and split off the power in the engine bay. I also put an audio inline fuse by the batt for added protection. next i grounded it to the strut tower in the rear. I also ran some 8 guage strait to the front for a supplament ground beacuse i was having trouble getting a good ground.

Ive had a 12V motorcycle battery in the storage compartment of my crx for over 2 years now with no problems. As long as you have a fuse in the power wire, it will let you know if there is a problem. With a large enough power wire and good ground, it will be fine.

I relocated mine to my backseat and wired in a distributor block with fuses that i got from a stereo shop. Works fine. I grounded it to where the seatbelts used to be.
