88 Hatch with LS swap Dies while driving
I have had this car for about 3 months now and i havent really had a problem with it yet. Last week i was driving home from work getting onto the highway about 65 mph when my CEL came on and 3 secs later my car shut off.. I rolled over to the side of the road and popped my hood and tried to figure out the problem. I messed with some of the spark plug wires and all the grounds and it started up fine and i got home.. WIthin the past week it has broken down on me every day on the way home from work.. the CEL does not stay on once the car dies. Somtimes the car will not start for 20 mins but it will turn over.. I replaced my spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotor and i ordered a new MSD dizzy cap.. I use the MSD Blaster 2 Coil.. Just wondering do you think i'm looking at the right stuff?? Electrical?? or could it be somthing completely differant. Today i am rewiring from the dizzy to the Coil and some other wires because whoever did the swap did a really crappy wiring job.
it's an electrical problem in a ground from wiring under the hood, ive got a 91 crx si that had the same problem someone had did a motor swap and spliced some wires to the ignition and starte and forgot to ground them out and every time i would go down the street 30 minute to an hour the car would die check your battery post while you are at it.
