Default HELP: Synchro purchase

I have a JDM 96 Spec ITR motor and trans.
The 3rd gear grinds (pretty bad) so I believe I need a new 2-3 synchro.
First of all: Is the JDM synchro parts the same as the USDM parts?
Secondly: I called my Acura dealership and he said I had to come in and look at their computer cause there were several part listings and normally they ask for a VIN number. I dont know what that means, and also, I wouldn't know which part I need.
I called to get a price quote.
Can someone help me clarify this somehow, perhaps with part-numbers.
TIA

The Search function works great, but you sometimes need to check the Archive button.

Here was the latest one I remember: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1358136

Good Luck, and post how much you end up getting it for.

^I did search. and I saw that thread. So if 3rd gear grinds. I need a 3-4 synchro? I don't know much about transmissions. Does it work like this: 1-2 Synchro, 3-4 synchro, 5-R synchro? I originally thought there was a synchro between each gear or per gear. Anyway, that thread doesnt really confirm if that part number is for the ITR specifically. Did someone confirm it?

Nevermind, I did a google search on that part number and it does in fact seem to be an ITR part number.
So can someone just confirm that JDM 96 ITR trans. parts are identical to a 97 USDM ITR trans. parts.

A few people here have use the syncros set from http://gear-speed.com/detail_synchros.html#anchor with no problems and the price I hear was sub 300 shipped.
search "gearspeed or gear-speed" in the archives
