HELP!!! 1990 B18A INTO A 1992 CIVIC VX???
I got a 1990 ls teg that I would like to swap into my 1992 civic vx. I know the civic is obd1 and the teg is obd0... what would I have to do to make it work. is there adaptors for the harness. I have the motor already in just how do I make it work. Please help if you can thanks in advace
MOUNTS:
-rear: EG mount + 94-01 teg bracket
-driver's side: 94-01 teg mount + bracket
-AC: EG mount + 94-01 bracket
-front: not sure (not used)
-tranny top: Hasport hydro-cable conversion (assuming you're keeping the stock Y1 tranny)
LINKAGE: 94-01 teg
ECU: OBD1 P74 (92-93 LS) or P75 (94-95 LS, higher redline)
INJECTORS: OBD1 civic, teg, delsol (all are 240 or 250cc, can't remember)
DIZZY: 94-95 LS
SENSORS & HARNESS: EG (might have to extend a few wires)
Assuming you're using the stock exhaust manifold, you'll need to have it shortened to line up properly with your exhaust. Any muffler shop can do this. Also anywhere 94-01 teg is mentioned, 94-97 delsol vtec can be substituted.

not sure if your in cali but ive heard that the motor (any motor) you plan on swaping has to be younger than the chasis your putting it in. then ofcourse be able to pass BAR... not 100% sure tho

this is true, however, if you play it cool, and dont rip up the streets everytime you get in the car, youll be cool. i have a 95 gsr in my 92 civic si with no cat and a straight trough pipe...loud as hell, but i dont get bothered cuz i dont abuse my cars power. i know my post has nothing to do with your initial question, just wanted to let you know, although its smart, that you dont HAVE to get your car bar certified. if you even live in ca. haha

I don't remember on the vacuum lines. Either set should be fine. Some of the distances might be a little different, but there is usually a bit of slack in the lines anyway.

Here is a breif rundown of the swap
Well here is a corrective update for the swap of putting a b18a into a 92-95 civic(we did it on an LX)
1) The mounts you DO NEED are 1994+ Driver side engine bracket and mount
2) The rear bracket needs to be from a 94+ integra. The mount for the rear can be used from the civic/integra also.
3) The top tranny mount we used is the 90-93 integra mount and also the 94+ teg mount works. Whoever said you can use a civic mount has never done this swap. The motor still sits on a small angle because you need an aftermarket TOP Tranny mount so I'd recomend buying the one from http://www.jdmshit.com and it will be a shorter mount raising your motor to the proper level as it should sit.
4) If you want to run the stock LS cable tranny, you will need to switch the VSS sensor from the hydraulic transmission to the cable tranny. Basically it's 1- 10mm or 12mm bolt holding it in. Once you undo the bolt you can take the VSS mechanism out and put it into the cable transmission.
5) The stock 90-93 Integra shift linkage works properly but sits about 1 inch farther away then the stock civic so you can deal with it or get the shift linkage extended.
6) DON'T USE THE STOCK INTEGRA CLUTCH CABLE!!! just pickup the conversion peice from http://www.jdmshit.com
7) You can use the 90-93 Integra gas pedal linkage

We tried to do this swap using as much stock civic mounts as we could(owner of the car neglected to get the proper mounts on time) so we had to try to see what we could do.
using the driver side 92 integra mount and the integra top tranny mount the motor sat in there but on an angle and a bit off so the mounts required NEED to be purchased in order for the motor to sit properly
I will update this thread in the next few days after all the final bugs are worked out with the swap and will update everybody of any changes.

I don't see anyone saying that you can use the civic top tranny mount.... By "passenger's side" I meant "tranny top". I guess it was labeled improperly, but I changed it now. Good point on the vss, I forgot about that.
Hey Mr.RHTuner, you mentioned that you could use the DA linkage for the swap. So the only difference would be that the shifter would sit about an inch closer to the firewall? Good to know

ok so the problem now is no spark I got every thing in but the clutch cable I am waiting for a conversion kit. I am using a ecu from a 1992 rs teg and the 1992 dizzy could that be the problem?
