Does the PY paint hold up pretty good?
Just wondering about the quality of the Phoenix Yellow paint. Does it show swirlies when the sun hits it or is it light enough like white to where they don't show? Does the paint stay shiny? Thanks
This is really a question for the appearance forum, but oh well:
With any paint, it really depends on how well you take care of it and what products you use. There are many people on here who have PY ITR's with paint that looks like it just came from the showroom.

haha. good call
If you take care of the paint it will look as good as you allow it to.

My PY looks great, no swirls.
Obviously, you will want to avoid (as much as possible) any abrasives on your paint, which might lead to swirls.

And don't be shy about waxing that baby.....

all true
I found water spots can stain the bumper if it sits in the sun for awhile. I still have some that happened when I was away on vacation.
All in all PY looks great, It makes the car standout more(which can be a bad thing) and it especially looks good on late summer evenings

My front clip has a slightly different shade o yellow than the rest of the car. Maybe due to the composition of the clip. Plastic vs metal. Other than that it all seems well.

Very common on PY cars, probably caused by just what you said - the difference in adherence of the paint to plastic vs metal. It just shows up a lot more on PY.

Hmm.. I always thought that was due to the flex additive rather than the material it was applied to.

Er, could be that, too
I never noticed a color difference on my FBP kaa, but various PY's of a similar vintage seemed to show it. Anywhere from barely to very prominent depending on the light.

6 of these half a dozen of the other.
My PY had very nice matching paint (bumper/rest of car) and the car didn't show swirls or dirt very quickly BUT it chipped easily as just about any other Honda/Acura paint job does.
My NBP on the other hand showed swirls almost immediately and dirt absolutely immediately after washing even when only hand washed & waxed in particular **** methods.
The paint chips all the same.

Perhaps when I wasn't looking.
I've seen a few with the same thing going on. Mine wasn't always garage keep and it was run hard like a hot ho.
