im planning on doing a repaint of the cx. i dont want to add dead weight by painting over the old paint so i want to completely strip the old paint down to the metal.

what is the best way to do this and the fastest? fastest and best?

 

I dont think you'll need to worry about the weight What does a coat of paint weigh..?

But if your determined.. just go to Ace or Oreilys and get the spray-on paint stripper.
It comes w/ a spray bottle. Spray on, wait like ten minutes, and wipe-off. Then go back and sand off any thing that is left.

 

If he strips down to bare metal won't he have to etch the metal or something to get the primer to stick?
