I have a 94 prelude vtec with a megan header and high flow cat and a tsudo cat-back exhaust. I think the exhaust sounds alright in vtec but it doesn't sound that great besides that (too raspy) and it is extremely loud. Loud enough that i have been pulled over twice almost three times in the last three weeks just because cops can hear me coming from like a mile away. I am thinking about leaving the exhaust the way it is and replacing the tsudo n1 muffler with a stock muffler. My questions are how will it sound like that? Will the performance be any differnent then the way it is with the silencer in? Also I don't want to spend a bunch of money on an apexi ws or something similar either so would anyone have any other suggestions.

Get a long resonator welded in and see what that sounds like.

 

but i am pretty sure that type of exhaust already has a resonator. how would it make any difference?

 

if your exhaust has a resonator on it allready have it removed and install a londer one. i had a 95 eclipse with custon exhaust and the first resonator was not long enough to sound quite but good.
