Has it always been like this since first install?

Are you using the Preasure plate it came with?

I had this same problem with a racecar using the Cerametallic twin disc and Tilton hydro release bearing. While trying to get in gear with the clutch released it was a bit difficult. The car hasn't been run yet so I don't know how it drives. I did call Tilton up about this issue. I felt that the clutch needed to be broken in and slipped to wear the discs down slightly. The tech said a cearmetallic clutch is considered "fully" released when there is .025" clearance between discs. That isn't very much clearance. So from this explanation I do think breaking the clutch in will allow the discs to fuuly release. Also, make very sure you are not overstroking the clutch to try and release the pressure plate. It does not take much to touch the fingers of the pressure plate to the clutch discs. Let me know if breaking the clutch in more helped this issue.
