Default Head gasket blown..

Well, I had a bit of smoke coming out the exhaust unusual to me... Radiator popped and one thing led to another so I pulled the plugs to check up on the cylinders and low and behold I had a small buildup of condensation on top of piston 1 and piston 3... I went ahead and did a compression test and got my consistent test of 185 all across the board... I figured if the head gasket was leaking I would lose compression, but I guess the liquid in the cylinder caused it to remain consistent? The coolant on piston 1 was enough to identify it as coolant and took a paper towel to soak it up and it taste like coolant, so I am going to be replacing my head gasket... Funny thing is the radiator popped when sitting in traffic... Wheres the best place to order a cometic from?

Dude you must be crazy lol! Tasting coolant wtf, that **** kills cats man! You can smell coolant because of it's distinct sweet smell. Don't put coolant on your tounge or mouth again please lol!

Coolant smells sweet, it must taste sweet too right?

Anyways, you can buy a cometic headgasket from most online retailers (one of the H-T sponsors has good prices), or get a felpro from your local autoparts store. You can probably save a few bucks by ordering a cometic though.

LOL!, yeah, I wouldn't recommend tasting coolant. If you just soak it in a white paper towel, just hold it to a light to see if it's slightly green (or yellow/purple depending on what kinda of coolant you use). Or just smell it.

Well, the coolant is a yellow color just like gasoline and it had a distinctive smell of gas... But, there was a faint odor that was sweet... So, I did as anyone who works with motors extensivley would do and solved the problem.... A touch to the tongue and it was obvious I was leaking coolant into the cylinders.... It runs pig rich when not at full throttle... Its had extensive tuning full throttle and it needs a bit more part throttle tuning. It runs about 12.1 A/F at part throttle varying...... So, it was higgly possible of a gas buildup after a compression test and me being too lazy to pull the fuel pump fuse..... I figure cometic is what I've had before and its held up the best with motors running such as mine...

Good deal but a lighter would've solved your problem over taste testing lol! What do you have done to the motor, or list your setup to help better diagnose what's going on!

Eh, the lighter would have lit the paper towel anyway you did it, but this was a sure fire way to test.. Yes, i know antifreeze is dangerous... A kid can ingest 2 capfuls and it will completely eat hie esophogaus... Thats a scary fact...

Although its slightly irrelevant about the motor stuff, Ill list the basics.... Its a 3rd gen prelude, so bear with me here.. h22a, t-60, crower billet rods, wiseco(endyn rollerwave design) pistons, ie (built like a brick)(theres alot more, but who cares, you get the idea)... So, preventative matinence is the point here... It leaking somehow and somewhere enough to smoke out the back and that just denotes save $$ and fix it before it could be a problem...

The gas from the injectors while cranking is not enough to significantly raise the compression, no matter how rich you're running.

From your mention of tuning, I'm guessing it's the "new" car?

I thought the guy would have put a metal gasket in when building the motor, after seeing how the rest of the car was dealt with!
Well, when are you leavin for Nopi?

:hits JTCDudeman on speed-dial...:

EDIT - your phone's not working, call me at work man. Let's get this car on the road!
