Default stock gsr boosted....7psi=>9psi....street tuned by self...safe?

ive been running my stock gsr street tuned on 7psi w/crome by my buddy and i for 2months now...its been running pretty good...pulls pretty smooth and gets good mileage...this is the first car we tuned with the innovate wideband so we are beginners in the tuning world...we have only tuned his car and my car since we got the wideband...i was just wondering what inputs u guys have on retuning the car for 9psi...yes i know it goes by hp and not psi but the this all street tuning so i dont actually know what kinda power im making. i know its all in the tune but like i said b4, we are pretty much newbies. plus this is only on crappy ca 91 octane. will 7psi and 9psi differ alot in means of tuning?

well your 7 psi columns are basically useless now until lower RPm's where you dont hit boost yet ..

so youll have to retune the whole 9 psi column. its safe depending on the tuner. best thing to do is hit up the 9 psi column 10% and work yoru way down till you find a good number.

Word

Watch the wideband and if it gets around or less then 13 then stop and up it a little. Do this until you have a generally safe AFR, then fine tune it.

what turbo are you running?

I'm pretty much on the same situation as you're in... wideband street-tuned as well. don't know how much boost my b16 can take before I stop.

okay heres my setup...its pretty decent and i didnt take any shortcuts so

stock gsr block
turbonetics t3/t4e 54 trim
drag mani
custom 3in dp
tial 38mm wg(.5bar spring)
greddy s bov
full 3in exhaust with dynomax resonator and magnaflow turbo muffler
fast-turbo oil kit
jrc intercooler
spoolinperformance i/c pipes
rc 550cc injectors saturated
walbro 255hp fuel pump

imma be using a turboXS standard mbc to up the boost....sorry i didnt specify in the beginning what the setup is....it pulls pretty good after i put the setup in compared to b4...especially with the type r tranny w/lsd...this is my first turbo setup too...looking to squeeze out whatever i can, on the safe side though...my buddy basically used the autotune feature on crome when we tuned my car...drove it around town to get some good partial throttle numbers logging then took it for some pulls...do you guys use this feature?...any more ideas, experience, opinions?

Do the tuning as you would for the 7 psi, you should be ok. Most important is keeping the AFR around 11.5:1 under boost, and from 5 psi and above retard it 0.8 deg/psi.
