Default Rod bolts, Torque wrench or stretch gauge

I got a set of Itr rods with arp bolts and was wondering if any on actually uses a bolt stretch gauge when tighting rod bolts. I talked to a machine shop and he said he only uses a stretch gauge when thats the only spec they give, he said he has had no problems using a torque wrench and to folow there instructions and use the 3 time method.

Any help would be appreciated

Rod stretch is more accurate, but you'll be fine with a good torque wrench.

I use a stretch gauge whenever I can. Some rod bolts don't have the dimples, and then I resort to using a torque wrench.
