you know you need an ls bottom end right?

 

buy an obd2b to obd1 conversion harness and buy a p28

or a p30 and you can use neptune...

i wasnt trying to pull a "stupid" card...
its just some people really have no clue what they are doing when it comes to ls/vtec...

i was just acting dumb.. well at the moment since i got to get my car running soon yes tryin to keep obd2... but later on i wanted to use either a p28 or p30.. and chip it or get it tuned .. planing on hondata.. thing is i hear theres disadvanteges to both.. like loseing the knock sensor if u use p28.. compared to p30... but i also hear that p28 is more tuner friendly.. so i was just asking for some opinions

 

the P30 and P28 are identical for tuning purposes. Only difference is the knock sensor and the additional price tag on the P30. You can even pick up a P72 and run a P30 code base on it.
Crome/Uberdata works on any of these.

only advantage of sticking to OBD2 is emissions. Disadvantage is tuning becomes a PITA.

how much more is the p30 compared to the p28?

 

depends on where you buy it, $25-50 more.
you can add a knock sensor to a P28 if you want, it's not super difficult if you know how to solder well. but the board you have to add usually goes for ~$45.
I personally have a JDM P30 that I tune with and have no problems or additional complications at all.
