I just started my own shop and Im thinking of buying a tubing bender. which do you use? I have heard of home made ones and a manual hydo type deal. But I have been looking at the bend pack bender. any input?

For what purpose? Roll cages? Exhaust pipes?

The bend pack is good for making roll cages and other structural things, but you really need mandrel-bent pipe for exhaust and charge pipe work, and you cannot afford a mandrel bender.

Ideally to totally different benders. Not that you couldnt do exhaust work with one that works best with structural thicker wall tubing. If you are doing exhuasts you might just find a distributor for mandrel bends. Then get a bender for frames, cages, etc...

I have a JD2 model 4 bender, by the time I get it up and working I will be into it about $2600 with 2 dies. Dies for this machine range from 150-300 per die.
