umm you can't remove a valve unless you pull the head.

You can remove the valve spring and retainer, but you have to have a special snap-on tool that allows removal without pulling the head off. It's a bar that bolts across the top of the head and a tool that rotates against the bar and allows you to push down on the valve retainer, remove the keeper, and then remove the valve spring. Otherwise a standard valve spring compressor requires head removal.

Take the valve cover off, u need to get a fitting that threads into the sparkplug hole and use a air compressor to pressureize the cylinder. Make sure that cylinder in a BDC because if it isnt the air will push the piston down and might break something. Then using the appropriate size wrench lossen the valve lash lock nut and then move the rocker out of the way to expose the ratainer and the spring. from there u need a valve spring compressor tool to push it down (the air will keep the valve up) and remove the keepers and flip the spring over then it in reverse

yeah but still, he's going to need that Snap-on valve spring compressor tool to be able to do it with the head still on.

I said he would need a VS tool..... the one u listed with the bar would be wasier but he could get one that mounted on the rocker pivit also

did u use a tool to compress the spring to remove the keepers and retainer? and you did pressurize the cylinder correct? if you didnt and the piston was near TDC and you pushed the spring down the valve could have hit the piston and have bent which then you would need to remove the head.
