I don't have time to run to a shop this week but hoping to get it done this weekend.
I have a front lower control arm on a 87 Accord and the pivot arm?? (the one that attaches to the front subframe) those 2 bolts broke off half way in there. I dont' have time to sit and drill them out and retap it myself so I will bring it to a shop but wanted to see how much it will cost roughly. Since a new arm cost over 100 bucks. I wouldn't want to pay that much to get it done.

IF you can find thirty minutes of spare time you could easily use easy-outs. you can pick up these sets that vary by size at almost ALL autocare stores (autozone, pep-boys, checker, etc)
all you do is drill a small hole into the bolt surface about 1" then use the matching easy-out by placing the square tip into the hole and giving it a nice wack with a small hammer. now just thread the broken bolt using a crecent wrench on the end of the easy out. this took me all of 30 minutes the first time i used them, now that i've pulled bolts from my head, block, tranny, etc. i can get it done in about 5 minutes.
heres what you need:
- easy-out set ($12-$16)
- crecent wrench
- hammer
- some sort of drill
the best thing about using these sets is that you retain the factory threads withing the bolt holes. no tap'n to a bigger size, cheap and not time consuming

Unfortunately, the fact that the bolt broke in half means that the part that's in there is probably stuck. It's probably going to be a much bigger job than you think to get it out...
unless you have a lift
im sure visting a couple tuner shops around your area would help. just tell em what the problem is and im sure someone could help you out.

I don't care if you have a lift or not, drilling out half of a stuck bolt on your suspension is a pain in the ***! I've done it too many times...

Jesus, never has a truer staement been spoken. I've given up on this idea, I replace these parts rather than drilling anymore

The replacement part is the one that has the problem
. 5 dollar part hoping for less then 50 bucks worth of labor will save me 50 bucks for a new lca.
The LCA is off the car so wouldn't mind doing it myself but don't have the time.
