It really depends on your goals and how you drive.

If you are simply power hungry/straight line driving, Turbo.
If you are more of a "driver" ie enjoy twisties, then go for a supercharger.

Either way, proper tuning is needed & if your power goals are really high a built block is needed.

I dont wanna sound like a dick or anything but there are a ton of posts on this already. So yeah if you searched you could have found out your info that way. But anyway it really depends on what you want. Turbo's are fine on ludes if u run anywhere from 6 to 8 psi. Anything above that will hurt you with just stock internals. The ringlands are the only thing that are weak though and u have to watch out for that.

You're not a dick, he just didn't search. Please use the prelude turbo forum for these questions.

Supercharger
Pros: Always boosting, less parts needed, Torque.
Cons: Rediculous intake temps, expensive, somewhat limited potential.

Turbocharger
Pros: Best power per dollar, lower intake temps, somewhat less expensive.
Cons: Turbolag, lots of parts needed.

i dunno cuz according to a lot of people on the forum the pistons are strong enough to handle the FI, but eventually the upgrade will be needed.

so all you need to do is get lower compression pistons and you will be able to boost say at 18 psi?

heh, nothing is stopping anyone from pushing 18psi--it's just that the engine will die a fabulous death if you do.

anything about say, 9psi requires a whole lot of new stuff...

I wouldn't waste my time on a jackson racing supercharger, but if a company starts using an autorotor/opcon supercharger then that would be awesome

I like the supercharger idea better as I it seems it is more reliable other than heatsoak issues.

Shark: You must have had alot of problems with your charger if you are telling this dude to go with the turbo!

JRSC seems to be more reliable with stock internals than say a turbo kit or custom kit with 9psi.

As said above, it all depends on what you want out of your car. I'm more into autox and that is why I prefer the SC'er. I also don't care about having 300HP, I just like a bit more power than stock.

nope, i don't think i could give you a list, only because i don't know what all those new things are.

i know some of them--

engine sleeves, new pistons, new rods, and good engine management.

lookup the turbo thread dood. i'm just an bolt-ons guy...

Whats the point of lowering compression just to run more boost? Have you thought about higher compression and less boost? something to think about. there are other variables than psi alone.
