Default bad piston rings?

If you have bad piston rings will that make your oil pressure lower than it should be, especially if all four cylinders are bad?

Usually you get lower oil pressure when the ring gear in the oil pump is going. How do you know you have lower than normal pressures? Do you have a gauge attached? What are your readings on a warm engine at idle and at 3k rpm?

If your rings are worn, the first thing you'll probably notice is it burning oil. If their worn, they are letting oil past them into the combustion chambers.

you'll start seeing black smoke if your rings are bad.

yeah i did a compression test on them and two cylinders had 50 and 52 psi and the other two had 75psi.
Its not burning oil though, so could it be burnt valves?

I thought you'd see blue smoke from bad rings or is that just seals?

It'd be blueish grey from the oil blow-by.

Holy crap. With low compression numbers like that, how does the power feel? Sounds like it's dying to me. You'd have to perform a leakdown test to see if indeed the valves were burnt.

Hmm...it's not burning oil, so it could be your valves. You would see blueish/white smoke like mentioned if you were burning oil.

I'm not sure if there's one posted on here, but i think there are leakdown tests posted on Team-Integra.net. But i think they're on this site too. You should look into doing that.

Those numbers were from a running compression test. The power sux until about 6k when turbo is spooled then pulls alright. I have a feeling this is why it hasnt been running well.
