gauge cluster swap , what about the mileage ?
ok i have a 1994 Honda Civic CX , so it doesnt have a tach, im getting a cluster from an EX or Si so that i have a tach , what im wondering is if there is somewhere i take the cluster to get the mileage changed to what the car has on it or if i can just swap the speedometers... im new so any help on this probablly easy question would be appreciated
you can swap the speedometer or change the mileage.... you can either run it digitally or move the *****/gears by hand
it's legal as long as it reflects the true mileage of the car/engine and still you have to report it at least to your insurance company maybe even secretary of state...

If the cluster you swap in has more miles than what your car has its not illegal not to tell someone. On the other hand if the new cluster has lower miles than yours then you can get into trouble. When you change out the speedo be careful of the needle as it bends/breaks EASILY.

I'm planing on doing this on my '97 DX.
I asked at the dealership and they said that it doesn't matter what the milage is showing on the new cluster. What they do is they give you a sticker to put on the door-jam that tells the actual milage when the cluster was swapped.
Other than that it's all good.
