*P30 ECU REDLINING TOO LOW AND NO VTEC*
WHATS UP,
HERE'S MY PROBLEM: I JUST RECENTLY SWAPPED A USDM B16A FROM A 95 DEL SOL VTEC INTO MY 94 HONDA CIVIC EX(THE DEL SOL WAS MINE AND I DID THE SWAP SO EVERYTHING'S LEGIT). WHEN IM DRIVING THERE IS NO VTEC AND THE CAR REDLINES(FUEL CUT OFF) AT AROUND 7OOORPMS. IT SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN COLD START MODE. I'M THINKING THE CAUSE COULD BE THE THERMOSTAT(ORIGINAL) OR THE VTEC CONTROLLER BECAUSE I REPLACED IT WITH A USED ONE RECENTLY. WHAT ELSE COULD CAUSE THIS? PLEASE HELP. MUCH APPRECIATED.

We'll go through the basics, since you may not know about them..
Is the check engine light on? If so, check the codes. If you need to know how to do this, refer to your shop manual, you have one, right?

My H22 had the same symptoms ofter comming out of a shop. Red line droped to 6k and no VTEC. The cause was a disconnected tranny sensor, but there are many other variables that would knock out VTEC.
