Default Depowering hatch so must use a key to open?

Anybody know how to unhook the hatch so you must use a key to open it instead of just hitting unlock on the power button. I'm trying to make it a little harder to seal my stereo stuff from my car if somebody breaks in!

What kind of car?
If its electrical then you can unplug it. I rewired the trunk on the integra so it would lock when you lock the doors, but only unlock with the remote or key. So yes it is possible.

Yeah sorry, it's a 01 GSR, I have power locks and actually would like to do what you said. Can I hook up all the locks so they will lock electronically but must be unlocked manually, this way it's much harder for a thief to just use a coathanger to unlock my doors.

Yes, just cut the wire that pulses the doors unlocked. You would have to do it on each door and trunk. Unless someone else knows an easier way. If they can reach your lock button then they could reach your lock as well. I don't think it will help much doing this to the doors.

Well the power lock switch on integra is a real easy fliper that can be unlocked supereasy with a coat hanger, but the actual lock is a different story I'm pretty sure you physically could not unlock it with a coathanger, its pretty sturdy and doesn't stick out of the door much(you'd have to see it to understand what I"m trying to say) I'm not sure which wire pulses the door to lock, can can I just use a test light to find it?

Trust me you don't need a coat hanger to do this. It is very easy but I won't post it here. Never use a test light use a multimeter. It is a negative pulse so you will need the other end of the multimeter tied to a constant positive.

even better would be to replace the factory lock unlock plates with those from the RS and tuck the switch in underneath so it looks like there is no power locks...

it's better that a theif says 'oh ****...can't use the coathanger..try another car' rather than..'hey easy picking...' ruins your window/ride then realizes he cant get in because you cut the unlock pulse...

Just my 0.02 as usual

That's a pretty good idea! I think I'll check at the dealer to see if I can get the plates, they shouldn't be too expensive! Then I won't really have to unhook the trunk so it won't open w/ the power locks, I won't have power locks at all, but oh well the price we pay to make theifs lives a little more difficult. I realize if somebody wants my stuff bad enough they just smash a window or do whatever else to take it, but if this wards off some amatuers then cool!
