Default 11.5:1 + JRSC w/o standalone... not a good idea? or DO IT DO IT?

I'm running moderately high compression, tuned with Crome...

I know homemade ITBs are pretty cheap, but I want to get some TWM or jenvey, or maybe even toda if I won the lottery or something...

Anyway, I know tony the tiger ran like 12 lbs on this compression on 94 octane and AEM EMS... so I'm thinking I may want to go forced induction instead of staying N/A.

Is 11.5:1 + JRSC + Crome on 93octane "dangerous" or should be completely fine with a good tune?

I have built a few 11.5-1 Blower cars, it can be done on 93 but tuning is tricky. The blower makes positive pressure so fast at lower RPMs you have to play with the timming map alot. Also bring the VTEC down low helps.
Good luck.

I go for close to 10-1 compression on Blower motors, If your running juice I would use forged pistons and keep the same compression.

Thanks for the replies... I'm sending my head out to get ported soon, afterwards, it's either ITBs or JRSC. I should talk this over in more detail with my tuner too...

I'd almost suggest having them work the combustion chamber too, pick up some CC's. You could also try a cometic hg, but that's if you already have forged 11.5's in there now. Unless you're trying to extract every HP out of the motor, hi-comp isn't necessary. Hi-comp boost is usually for more low-end & off-boost power, but the belt power takes care of both anyways.

Power is addictive, I want more... I'm just not looking for 500whp... I like my NA setup for autocross and even some spirited driving... I just think it'll be fun with like 6psi from a JRSC

Or to make it sound really lame... I like the WHINE!

Doesn't the GSR make more power than the ITR setup on JRSC's website?

I'll probably end up swapping my ITR head for a ported GSR head... raising my compression a little bit...

is this flirting with disaster? It'll be like 11.6:1

You can run it safely at that compression with 94, just make sure you keep the IAT's in check.

Higher compression really limits the room for you to fool around. I would run an LHT intercooled setup if you have the money, or at least invest in a decent water injection system.

Higher compression does help power everywhere if you are within a certain power quota. With the same amount of fuel and air entering the engine, a higher compression engine will be more efficient and produce more power. This is especially beneficial for JRSC setups when the amount of CFM of air entering the engine directly depends on how much air the blower can push out. You can make a lot more power at the same 6 psi and at the same time, limiting heatsoak and hot IAT's.

How safe is this on 93 octane? 94 is no longer available in my state, atleast not that I know of... 94 is still available in Canada?

If I do a JRSC, I will definitely be watching my IATs and installing an intercooler or aftercooler or whatever they call it for superchargers... I wasn't planning on installing water injection though...

thanks for your input.
