oil pouring out of the blow off valve
I just had a turbo instaled on a 92 hatch 1.5 v tech,it ran fine for a day then the clutch went out, i had someone instal a new clutch and they told me the engine and turbo came off, then they remounted them. I think they hooked something up wrong because now i have oil gushing out the blow off valve. what would cause this if they hooked something up wrong. Please help.
Yes i had a friend take his car into a shop to have emis done and they said they had to do some thing to make it pass..a week later one of his cuplers blew up. so we replaced it...still oil out of the bov and then realized he had blown his turbo. and setup a different catch can
ummm oil gushing out the blow off valve? or oil gushing out the waste gate? if oil were gushing out the blow off valve I would have expected you to mention all the smoke youre car is now making as well. seeing as when the bov is closed all that oil would be going straigt into your engine.
'either way theres a severe problem with the turbo in either situation and I would not go back to that "mechanic" ever again. who has to take the turbo off to install a clutch?

LoL!
I thought I was the only one!
This happened to me a few months back. Went to the races, and I noticed that the area around my BOV was super oily. I could hear the oil spewing out of my BOV every time I shifted at full throttle!
But, my car wasn't smoking at all...
So, I ended up taking the lower charge pipe off and oil dumped out. My lower charge pipes and intercooler were filled with almost a quart of oil. So, when I was boosting, it would push the oil up into the upper pipe and out the BOV when I shifted.
I pulled the turbo off and the turbine blades and downpipe were dry as a bone. Only the compressor seal was leaking. I replaced the compressor seal and haven't had any problems since.
