Default obd2a and obd2b distributor?

I am using an obd2b on my friends obd2a car and it wont start. Does anyone know if i have to repin the plug and switch around wires? need a quick response to get his car running thanks

I dont think you would have to. I just put a b16a2 (obd2b) motor in my 96. I used a obd2a harness and all the obd2b stuff including the distributor and everything works just fine. Im also using P28 ecu with a jumper harness, but I dont think that will matter.

i believe the only difference is in the obd2b cx and dx. other than that all obd2a and obd2b distributor harnesses should be the same.

the 2a have a sqaure plug while the 2b has a rectangular plug.

2A uses 9-pins because it includes the Tach wire.

2B uses 8-pins because it doesn't include the Tach wire.

so is there a way to use the 2a dizzy in the 2b by cutting/soldering the wires? and just lose tach output?

started reading the helms, directions created. just curious, i use the rpm signal for my safc2. losing that from the dizzy, wont my a/f setings get messed up?
