Default OBD software for PC, Is it available? Used Search function already

search function is iffy, at best.. needs tightened up as the filters are too broad.. Regardless, I found nothing..

With VWs, I used VAG-COM for OBD diagnostics..
Is there available software for the Honda?

Thanks..
Ricky

edit: Ive already got the OBD cable from laptop to OBD port..

Something like this?http://www.obd-2.com/ Looks like there is a free download. Never used it but was curious myself and did a search and this is what I found.

what obd system are you talking about?

with obd0 and obd1 you can just jump the ECu or look at the ECU and it will show you the codes. with obd2 there is a scanner tool and with the new 2002+ stuff there is a cool scann computer needed.

I work for Honda and have all the scantools I need at my disposal. The original poster was talking about something PC based, not just how to retrieve codes.

what ^^^ said

I'm looking for a pc-based system. I have an obd2 car (not that it matters) and I know about and have a jumper to retrieve codes, but I am more interested in dagnostic software, much like VAG-COM that is used (and I have) for VW/Audi..

Was just wondering if anyone has used, or knows of, this type of software for the DIYer..

I've used these guys software on a PC for a few years for my GM products. http://www.obd2.com/ very similar to the url above, but without the dash in it.

I was satisfied with the price/performance, and I need to buy the extension for Honda's. For GM I had the extended powertrain parameters, it looks like just the basic OBD II parameters for Honda.
