Default d16y8 head on a d15b7 block mini me what else is required?

i have the d15b7 engine in my car, and am about to buy a d16y8 head for a minime swap, then turbo. what else will i need to complete the minime swap aside from the head? thanks, i know this has been covered before, but i dont feel like fumbling thorugh dozens of search results.

You will need a Y8 or Z6 headgasket and a Y8 timing belt. Since your are planning on boost, you might want to consider getting a thicker headgasket as the Y8/B7 combo raises the C/R over 10 to 1.

ok. thanks. i know lower compression is better for turbo. but the point of the mini-me swap for me is to have a higher base hp for turbo. so if i did the mini me swap, using a thicker head gasket, would i really be gaining any power? if so whats a good head gasket to use? or do they just make different thicknesses of the same one? thanks

a Z6 head will lower compression ratio as the combustion chamber area is larger.

A Z6's combustion chamber is similar to a B16A heads cc, as is a Y8's cc to a GSR heads CC.

GSR/Y8 combustion chamber:

B16A/ITR/Z6 combustion chamber:
