Default GSR trannsmission versus Type R tranny?? Which one is better for a BUILT LS VTEC?

My friend has a fully built LS VTEC set up, which has been bored to a 2.0 liter motor with something like over 540whp. He has a T70 Garrett turbo and 10.5 inch intercooler setup in a EG hatchback. I was wondering what type of transmission he should use for better perfomance? Should he use a GSR or a Type R transmission? Please tell me any useful information that could help out.

Well the Type R has slightly shorter gears and an LSD so if he is planning on leaving the transmission and differential stock I would definitely go with the Type R.
