Default Easier axle nut removal without impact gun (Tip)

I don't know if any of you have tried this.
When I had to remove one of my axles last time, to keep the wheel from turning while trying to break loose the axle nut, I stuck a slot screwdriver into one of the brake rotor slots. When the wheel turned it came to a stop against the caliper. The nut came off easy using a breaker bar.
Before I figured this out, I spent nearly an hour trying different ways without impact tools.

why not just have someone step on the brakes or wedge something between the seat and the brake pedal? works every time for me.

I just break it loose with the wheel on. Simple as that.

it can some times be to hard even for a breaker
I would recommend buying a compressor and an impact and save the back pain and or hopping on a pole for little kids! lol j/p thats how i used to do it

keep the wheels on, remove center caps, put the handbreak on, put it in first, and use a breaker bar.

Yeah I hear that, I use my heavy *** 3/4'' breaker bar and a good impact socket as well, and I still sometimes worry about shattering the socket, because I have done it to one of my MAC impact sockets on something else before and it wasn't fun, but the socket was replaced so that was good.

lefty loosy, righty tighty.

I leave the car on the ground in gear, handbrakes on. take off center cap, use 32mm socket and long breaker bar situated so it is parallel to the ground. use a hydraulic jack under the breaker bar to turn the nut counter clockwise. it will take a lot more than you think to break it loose, but when it does, it goes with a "pop", so be ready.

Yeah they can suck. I broke a Snap-On breaker bar on mine. Best tools you can buy and it bent in half and the knuckle busted open. Ended up just using the "jam something in the rotor end" method and then impacting it off w/an air gun.

Both work totally forgot that trick. Of course the first suggestion is based off of if you have to go it alone and all.
