A sad day...
After talking to my parents we decided that it no longer makes much since to pay insurance on the R while I'm away at school for the next few years. I really only drove it during the summer and on holidays, and ofcourse those weekends when I would just go home to drive. I might still insure it during the summer depending what I do with school during the summers. She'll have her gas topped off, some stabilizer added, oil changed, and covered up indefinitely. Atleast I have my 90 Civic Wagon, haha. Anyway atleast I know I'll still have her in the future.

You'll be missed.

Unless you plan on driving the caR, I would suggest having the car professionaly drained. Oil will get 'milky' with condensation after sitting for about a month, and the gas will begin to degrade. It is best to store a vehicle dry if there are no plans to run it.
I know State-Farm offers a vehicle storage insurance policy. I had that on my '92 GSR for 2 years while I drove my ITR around. It was about $36/mo, and covered theft, fire (damage) and allowed me around 100 miles/mo. Possibly look into something along those lines.
Good luck,
Marshall

Everything I have read on the Internet says the exact opposite to do for long term storage.

What company issures you? My family has GEICO and since I was the "secondary driver" of the R, when I left for school a couple weeks ago, GEICO put a calculation into their computer that takes into account how many miles away from the car you will be and about how many miles a year you'll put on it. Since I'm about 250miles away and would only put about 4k a year on, it ended up dropping IIRC $950 a year off my families insurance. If I totally took it off insurance though it would have saved a total of $1500, but then I wouldnt ever be able to drive it
So as of now, mine is sitting in my backyard under a car-cover 'til Thanksgiving break. My dad is using the remote start to start it once or twice a week to prevent any problems. I cant wait to get home and smash on the nice, familiar mountain/woods roads
