Default Infinity component sets?

Are these any good, i'm looking to upgrade from a 4x6 infinity in the doors right now, are there component systems good, i really like the 4x6 but it's not quite enough. i would like to know if they are good or other brands to use for a good crisp sound, right now i have
2 4x6 in the doors (infinity) \
2 6x9 in the back deck (infinity) / running of 2 channel 2x75 rms
2 12" subs in trunk running off 500.1 jl amp

i'm gonna switch to a infinity 4 channel which is 4x111 watts rms. so what would you all reccomend

Would be nice if we knew what the car was, as I don't know any Honda/Acuras that have 4x6s in the doors, and you may want to wait more then an hour before you start shitting all over the people that would help you, I will tell you this, this will probably be the least hostile response to your post, and with your attitude it may just be the only response, try again. 94

Can you make some adapters (MDF Spacer) to accomodate at least a 5.25" Component set? In general, I find that most round speakers will typically have better SQ than an oval speaker...though the ovals can have better bass output due to more cone area.

I don't know of any 4x6 components, so I think you'll be limited a lot by availability. If you find different options and you can't decide, you can post them up and you'll certainly get opinions. But yeah, what Honda has 4x6 stock cutouts anyway?

what car do u have? is it a cavalier? that would be my guess, if it is a j-body metra makes adapter kits to replace ur shitty 4x6s with 6.5"s they are like $20 retail and well worth the price.
did I mention 4x6s suck
get urself a quart or boston or focal or morel, dont bother with infinty there are much better things out there for around the same price.

Agreed with all of the above. I got some Infinity components, they're okay but I'm not really happy with them. I wish I'd bought something else.

You need to be a little more specific with your post. What kind of car do you have? What kind of Inifinitys are you looking at? Reference series or Kappas or Kappa Perfects??

I run infinity kappa 6.5 perfect components in my integra. for the price off ebay, I love them. you will require a spacer to put the 6.5's in the front. I re-used the stock spacer by removing the grill contents, leaving only the ring itself. worked like a charm. got those hooked up to a 500x4 watt with a pair of 3way kappas 6x9 on the trunk lid. (baffled) only problem i can forsee is wiring in the door panels. there is nowhere to run the wires to the speakers w/ out it being exposed. and attempting to drill the firewall and door frame was futile. There is an artcle at team-integra.net about how to modify the stock door haness to accomodate the aftermarket speaker wire. To be honest, a direct connection from an amp, doesnt do these speakers justice. I run my setup through a 15 band equalizer. (pioneer deq-7600) And it sounds killer after a tweak session. Also got a JL 10W3-V2 500 watts at 3 ohms.

First off the amp you are getting, I have, and it is amazing, for your 6x9's i would replace with 693.7i infinity speakers, and for the fronts replace with 653.7is or component version look up them on ebay, you can get good prices.

you'll have better overall sound if you use the amp that is running your 6x9s for the front speakers and just run the 6x9s off of the HU

but the 6x9 are 100 rms each, my hu isn't powerful enough. Would it still be better even if i used a 4 channel amp? I figure i can use the gains to fade it to the desired sound balance right?

But why is it you say the 6x9 would be better off with just the hu powering them?

i just realized it looks like just 6x9 are off the 2 channel but all four speakers are currntly running off of 1 two channel amp at 75x2 rms at 2 ohms, which is the load i believe i have them at.

there are 2 4 ohm speakers per channel so would that make it 2 ohms or 8 ohms?

If they are wired in parallel (both speakers hooked up to the terminals of a channel), they are a 2-ohm final load.

Good sound basically comes from the front, and the rear just provides fill. That's why you don't want the rears to be as prominent. The HU will power 100w RMS speakers, it just won't get them very loud without distorting. That's okay, just fade it to the front so the deck isn't pushing too hard to power the rears, amp the front speakers only, and you'll have great sound with a bit of surround.
