Vtec not engaging?
Last night I took my car in to get tuned for full throttle so we tuned the non vtec to 6000 rpm and then started to try and get vtec to engage but had no luck?We tryed trouble shooting till midnight but no luck. The engine was fully built by a machine shop.
My setup
Gsr block)
Je 12.5-1 pistons
Crower rods
darton sleeves
New type R oil pump
Moroso oil pan with pick up
Head(b16)
Skunk2 Stage 3 cams,retainers,springs, high comp valves,twm itb's, Dtr B unit header
OBD O to OBD 1 conversion( frog harness) with hondata S200 with data logging
We went back to the shop and tryed testing all the vtec stuff. 3 New selonid, oil pressure switch and tested the continuity of all the wires from the ecu to the seloind and the switch. It all seemed to be working. We even tryed just hooking up a switch to to the vtec seloind to a 12 volt source and force it to change while driving but still no luck. We even tryed new ecu and hondata on the car but still no luck?
Double checked the OBD 0 To OBD 1 wireing conversion all okay
We even ran an oil line to the head from the back of the motor( like an ls/vtec) but still nothing?
We are hooking up an oil pressure guage tonight.
My tech tells me he believes that it is an mechanical problem just wonder on a second opinion before we start ripping a part a new engine. If you belieive it is mechanical what should we look for in side the engine

does vtec even make a sound, but no pull...cuz on my gsr, one tiime, vtec would engage....but no pull at all..but very very loud...it was my distubutour....but u say it wouldnt engage at all??...hmmm...well u checked all the nessacary things that would cause vtec not to work..now try things that u wouldnt think would effect the vtec engagement...
Vtec doesn't make a sound at all? it's not engageing I don't know if the machine shop forgot some vtec peices or not but I 'm running out off ideas.
