there are two bolts on the top of the shock tower...its located in ur trunk...i believe u will have to take out the carpeting to get access to them...well thats how it was on my ej coupe...ive never done any suspension work on an eg hatch, but it should be the same...the other bolt is on ur LCA...remove this and the shock should slide right out..be careful it could immediately fall and u can injure urself...i cant even remember how many times ive hurt myself working on suspension components

what? no u dont..just take out the entire "shock" assembly..it only requires the removal of 3 bolts ...the two on the top of ur tower(inside the cabin)...and the one that attaches to the LCA..

did i say allen wrench? buds, its not too hard. move your carpet in the trunk to reveal your suspension remove the 2 top bolts, then take the bolt on the arm off... just like dx said. THEN... when you pull out the strut assembly do what i told you earlier. just dont aim it at your face... might get hurt.

cut it and get a new bolt.. that's what i did

it's a pain in the *** job but that's what you gotta do...

or you can try heating around the bolt for 30secs to a minute or even more and see if that helps... also spray some pb blaster (walmart or ace hardware)
