Default Axle help. Plz!! pics wanted

Hey guys. I'm pretty solo on my engine swap and if something doesnt go right i walk away and read. well it seems to me my axles arent in al the way. could just be me freaking out. when in gear they wont move but they just seem to be not in. maybe 1/8 of an inch? i have everything else connected as well. when i try to tourque the axle nut (how much is the btw) it doesnt tighten much. anyone have a pic of their axles? thank you

when i install the axles i always take a piece of wood a 4"x4" x 2" thick piece and tap the axle til it mates with the tranny. Also the torqe spec on the axle is 135 ft lbs if my memory serves me correct

it could be achieveable. may have to use a skinnier piece of wood just be sure its strong enough to not break.

I dont recommend using metal because you can mushroom the end of the axle and that you do not want

well you gotta use some force to push the axle in til it clips in place. i learned the hard way by loosing my grip and hitting my head on the control arm so now i just force it in as much as possible without hurting my self and using the hammer and wood meathod.

the torque spec is either 130 or 135 ft. lbs and u have to have the axel fully in the trans there should be no room. check your splines on the axel sometimes the slightest lil nic will hold u up. otherwise use the block of wood as mentioned before.
