Just a list I compiled of stupid things I did today while working on my car.
Main goal = Fixing code 12
While cleaning the intake manifold and EGR valve... I had the cap of the carb cleaner backwards and sprayed it all over my hand and arm. BURNED BAD!! I had tons of cuts from working already. That **** hurt man.
I put the intake on. along with the heads I got cleaned at the shop. Connected everything except for the distributer.
While trying to tightning a nut, I slipped off the nut and I slipped at the same time... somewhere in there I ripped my TIMING BELT IN HALF
New goal = Putting on new timing belt
Was loosening some hose by my AC compressor because the book told me to. It failed to mention that all my Coolant was gonna spray all over the damn car, including ME. I closed my eyes and took off soon as it all shot out but It still got all over me.
Now I don't know if my AC is gonna work haha.
It's to dark now to work, so I am gonna finish up tomorrow. It is funny how one code 12 and an EGR valve that consist of 2 bolts and a plug, turns into rebuilt heads, cleaned intake, new timing belt...
and maybe some AC work.
Also. 5 extra bolts and 2 screws left over so far.
I don't see how some of yall like working on cars. I guess if I had air tools and a garage with a lift or something I'ld love it. But I dunno. It's alot of work.
Time for a nap.

I feel your pain, bro, my drums F'ed up big time similar to what you experienced a few months ago. Go have a beer, get some funky lovin, and come back with a clear head. That is the only thing that works for me when the **** hits the fan in 50lb manure bags. Good luck to ya, and things will get better with a fresh perspective.

I did some stupid stuff too last month. Cost me like 120 bucks. But you live and learn from it.

I don't get frustrated really. I like the learning experience b/c I don't know much about engines.
The only thing that does really **** me off are stripped nuts and when bugs fly around my ear

The <U>ONLY</U> reason I enjoy working on cars is because I don't have to. My EF is the play car. My Mazda is my transportation.
And don't feel bad! We all f-up every now and then.

Yeah, it sucks when you're having a hard time and you have bugs in your face.
I was changing tranny fluid once and got swarmed by fire ants while I was under the car....Man I was PISSED!

The worst I have had it was when I was doing my header and was under the vehicle tightening the bolts to the cat when I realized oil was dripping on my face from below the IM. I was a little upset about that the, but it's pretty damn funny now.

my father has horrible luck working on cars. he is accident prone. hell just today he was bleeding everywhere and we don't even know what happened.
I think the worst thing that happened to him.. He was putting a new tranny in a ford probe. it started to rain and for some reason he got stuck and couldn't get out from under the car for about 5 minutes.
i would of laughed at him but i had to help him get out from under it. so i got wet too

Thats common.
Try to keep them in order next time, nothing will left over.
