just noticed that my cars fuel cut off is set at 7200. is this bad that i go up to 7200? i didnt modify anything, i bought the car this way.

 

its factory setting I blieve

 

thats so in case you mess up bad enough and go way into the red your car stops revving so nothing blows up

 

to keep you from doing something stupid

 

shouldnt it stop at 6800 though?

nope, 7200 is factory spec. I wouldn't worry about hitting the cut-off, your engine can handle higher revs than that, but it's rather pointless to rev a stock engine any higher since you're losing power beyond 6200 - 6500 RPM.

 

anyone know how high you can change your rev limiter to thats still safe? got my ls turbo'd and getting ecuchipped thentune heard 8000 is highest recomended? true or not?

 

I dont see a point in taking it past 7200, im not sure abuot on a fi'd car but you lose power around 5800, ls makes the most steady increase in power from about 4,5-7

 

redteg, it depends on your tune, powerband location and valvetrain setup.
