chipped obdII p72
Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody knew where i can find sombody who makes chips for obdII p72's so that they will work with the h22. Stock it will "run it" but i want it to run how it should. I have seen them before and just need to find one for sale or somthing
there is only 1 company that I know off the top of my head that re-chips p72/p73 obd2 ecu's. But the program they use is just an upgraded stock program. That is http://www.comptechusa.com
you would have to find an obd1 p72 and run a obd2->obd1 conversion cable like this:

trying to run a h22 with a p72 , they only made the obdII prelude ecu with out the immoblizer for 1 year, and its like $500 for it. I am not trying to do anything with the emmisions so the obd2 computer should not set it back, i just need it to use the prelude fuel mappings rather than the gsr, i dont think obdII is gonna mess with that, and i have searched and found chipped p72's for h22, i just cant find one to buy

vafc is not ment for fine tunning FYI its tunning capablities are minimal, and its a piggy back computer, i use to have one in my car, its nice piece but also limited as to what it is cabable of
vafc may not be ment for fine tunning, however i would still bet it would work for what i want it to do. I know what it is and that is why i think it will work, but I would like some more thoughts on the subject good or bad. ......... i hate emmisions

If you want to run a chipped ecu, the easiest and cheapest way is to convert to obd1 (obd2-1 harness and obd1 p72 ecu). OR, you can what was mentioned already..get a vafc. I know the big companies in Japan (spoon, mugen, etc) chip obd2 ecu's, but expect to pay $700+ easily!

why not just go obd1? i know u can remove the immobilizer off the ecu. but i guess if you don't wanna pay for the ecu then u have to look for other options. i would guess vafc, but not sure how.
honestly i would just suck it up and by the 97 prelude ecu. if you remove the imobilizer on any of the ecu's that have them (which can be done), you will get a check engine light. cel's mean an automatic fail. some things should not be half-assed and are worth the money to do it "right." good luck.

That statement is not true.
My 37820-P72-A02 OBDII was chipped with a clone of the Spoon sports program. The company is called K-Max Speed and it is based in Japan. I paid $250 for the OKI MSM66507 processor programmed with the fuel and ignition maps. I had to desolder my existing chip and install a surface mount socket.
I suppose they do custom work, but I think they only speak Japanese. My Japanese friend made all of the arrangements as a favor to me.
Why not run your stock P72 for a week before the emmisions test, pass the test, and then do the OBDI swap? Perhaps you can find a JDM OBDII ECU without the immobilizer.
