Default SWAP B16 or a D16Z6vtec

Hey word up I got 1,500 in my pocket I want to go with either a D16Z6vtec or a B16 swap. Into a HONDA CIVIC 92 DX…..what do you guys suggest keep get more money & do the B16 swap or just go with a D16Z6vtec for right now? My car is stock right now.
How much would I come out spending doing the B16 swap & what engine do u recommend to get. How much are the B16 running for? Or just do a mini me swap into my stock D15B7 just add a D16Z6vtec.

Peace

B16 would be my choice. You next question would be can I find a full B16 swap for 1500.00?

took the words out of my mouth. I think that would be the route I would have taken if I did my car again.

Wouldnt it be best to get a b16 or anything besides a d series SOHC. Its a better platform to have if you want to go turbo in the future.

depends on what your goal is. The D series can be built to be an awesome motor making some decent power. My buddy built his D16 to prove a point and put down 425whp, which isnt bad for a little D. Of course the B series might have more potenial but again it comes down to goal. If all you want to do is build a good fast daily driven car, the a turbo D is good.

In the last couple of months, I was trying to find a complete D16z6 motor and couldn't. I wanted a spare one for my SCCA ITA car. I did however find a B16 "motor only" for pretty damn cheap. I also found high milage stock 92 SI. So, I bought the EG SI and thinking of buying the B16 for it. Don't know yet.

hmmm didnt think funner was a word...

But back to the topic.. Its gonna come down to what you want out of your car... Do you want lots of power or do you just wanna have some fun in a turbo D...

Get the B16 and drive it around while you find and build a B18C or B20vtec block.

It's your decision, it's your money. Search enough, and you'd come up with an answer.

Peace...out.
