Default Part number for the y8 head gasket? (I looked first)

I'm doing a head gasket on my d16z6 engine.

I'd like to save a buck or two, but the honda dealer site dosen't give you the option to ask for a z6 or y8 engine, it just gives me the z6.

So I can't find the part number to just ask for that, and not have the dealer charge me almost twice as much for the Z6 one.

If anyone can tell me, I'll buy you a virtual beer

Thanks!

Well, the part may be the same, but thats a different number than I get when I put in '93 del sol vtec on the Honda dealer page.

That number is : 12251 P08 004
and it runs $57.50

I'll find out tomorrow how much the other one is.

i assumed when you said del sol vtec, it usually means the b16 model. so you have a z6 engine and want a y8 hg? they are both the same, but you are right, they have different part numbers, the z6 is also bout $45 and the y8 one is $23 even though they are both EXACTLY the same 3 layer.

Right! :D

Thus the reason I want the cheaper part #, that I can't get using my cars specs on the dealer page

Hopefully I already have that # from the above poster.

Ah-ha!

Thanks for the info. Luckly I haven't really had to do too much to this car. its pretty clean inside the engine for having 235k on it! No sludge, no gunk, not much carbon either.

Hopefully it will last a while longer after this.

And I'll use that site, adding it to my bookmarks now...
