Default valve specs with 403's?? please help...

Im currently running 403's in my ls and the valves are terribly noisy. Crower recommends that they be set to .006 and .008 but i want to set them to .005 and .007 to try and cut down on some of the noise. Would this work without the risk of burning the valves, or in other words how tight is too tight?? please post up suggestions, TIA.

5/7 or 5/6 sound about right. LS cams are smaller base cirlces so BVTEC lash numbers shouldn't be used.

you might wanna check your LMA's also...your noise could be coming from there..

i think its mostly due to the camshafts because numerous people over at nonvtec.com all say the same thing about thier valves bieng noisy. I guess its just a characteristic of the cam.
