My amp still runs on even with out the remote wire pluged in...any ideas why
My amp all of a sudden is messed up, like first im getting a code on the digital read out(E-02 which means" when the unit has failed and direct current voltage is generated to the speaker output") not to sure as to what that means, but it could have something to do with the fact that even when i remove the remote wire from the amp, which should prevent the amp from turning on, the amp it self doesnt turn on, but the fan within the amp turn on. it does this even when the car is off a beleive. granted yea its hooked directly up to the battery and is grounded, but it shouldnt turn on, cuz it shouldnt turn on till the amp does. any got any sort of a clue as to whats goin gon
What kind of amp, some amps have fans that are controlled by a thermo switch and will run anytime the amp is to hot, just like some cars rad fan.

Well fcm answered and most likly he is correct. But i want to add my 0.02 cents. Check if the power lead is touching the remote terminal. (Hey it can happen)

its a kenwood amp. a KAC-X621. The newer kenwood models. im not sure if it has to do anything with overheating, cuz the amp it self has never gotten hot, and it happens everytime i try to turn my amp on. Like even in the morning after sitting over night. and thats a negitive on the remote wire touching the power(i thought the same thing)any other ideas

It must be something in the amp. If it still has war. then just send it to the manf. or the store you bought it from.

If direct current voltage is generated to the speaker outputs does that not mean that the audio outs are shorted in the amp????
