I'm sorry, let me rephrase this....

Who manufactures the OEM pistons and rods, along with other internals, for Honda of Japan/America?

The reason I am asking this is because I was told by someone that Honda does not make their own internals for their engines, but instead relies on an outside source. I know I have seen the name stamped on the engine blacks and transmissions housings as well. but I can't remember the name.

My answer is not direct: piston rings are made by TEIKOKU and RIKEN, so these companies can possibly supply Honda with their other products.

I say lets find out who makes there pistons. It would be great to get a high compression stock piston that doesnt destroy the frm walls.

Fine, use a F23 block, bore it out, use whatever pistons.

Not trying to steal the thread, just giving some info...

They are 12.3:1 compression, manufactured by the company Cosworth for JUN. http://lib.store.yahoo.com/lib...h.jpg -This is a pic of one of the jun pistons. It's kind of hard to get a hold of these pistons but try pm'ing the honda-tech user JUNBB1, he has them I believe.

I was opting for these pistons for a while, and in an attempt to get them without the hassle of finding someone who still stocks them, I contacted cosworth. They are based out of UK but have a place in Cali as well. http://www.cosworth.com/contactus.php

I talked to them about producing the same piston and selling them directly to the public but I obviously didn't think this through because JUN came up with all the specifications of the piston and so it is therefore THEIR piston and cosworth cannot produce it as its own design. JUN only produces their pistons through cosworth because of the forging tools they have access to.

I tried to get a group buy going to convince Cosworth to produce a similar piston of its own design, but I didn't get much feedback on honda-tech and shortly gave up when Cosworth did not return one of my last calls.

Also, if we could convince them that the demand is high enough for frm compatible pistons, they would probably produce a lower compression piston as well (TURBO BOYS).
