i dont know the deal...the last time this happened i noticed my Cruise control and my dome light wouldnt work so i replaced a fuse and it solved the problem...that stuff all works still and the light on the key fob lights up but nothing happens...any ideas? (i search but nothing came up i just dont know what to search for in this one)
batteries too weak? I would try replacing the battery... the light might turn on, but if there isn't enough juice for the transmission signal it won't work unless you're right next to the door or even then...

It doesn't matter. If it were because of replacing the aftermarket radio, then it wouldn't have worked when he replaced the fuse the last time. It would make a difference if he has had one installed since replacing the fuse though.
Besides. He said that the dome light still works and the radio would have nothing to do with the cruise control problem since it is not wired in through the radio.

I've had this happen once or twice. I attribute it to electrical interference and code scrambling. Your remote sends a pre-programmed code to your head unit. When the code is being transmitted outside electrical interference (high power lines, HF devices) may have interupped or scrambled it, thus causing it to not have the proper code sequence anymore. Here is how you fix the problem:
FIX 1 : WITH OEM ALARM
A: Discounnect the Neg Terminal on your battery, and unplug the 7.5 AMP fuse in the engine compartment. It should be labeled "Backup/Radio".
B: Pop out the OEM headunit. Unplug the green 16pin connector on the security unit.
C: Turn key to ON postion, then back OFF.
D: Reconnect the 16PIN Green Security Connector.
E: Insert the 7.5 AMP Backup/Radio Fuse
F: Reconnect Neg Battery terminal and tighten down.
G: Reprogram BOTH remotes per the instructions that came with your car. <-- Not sure what year your car is so I cant help you with that.
