Default Key fob remote doesn't work. :(

Ok, this remote came with the car and never worked for me. Yes, I bought it used. When I push the buttons on the remote the light at the top lights up, but does nothing to the car. Wont lock, unlock, etc. Checked fuses, all are there and everything. Any ideas? Sorry, I don't know much about these things.

EDIT: I got a new battery, the LED is continuously on. It doesn't work, even when I try to program it. IDK why the LED is continuously on but I don't think it should be. Any ideas?

You have to have your stock radio with keyless brain. If you're using an aftermarket deck, make sure you make a child harness for the radio.

If the LED on the fob works when I put in a new battery then doesn't light up later that day, or the next day, does that for sure mean it's broken?

Well it did. I haven't replaced the battery in a couple months. I think when I replaced the batteries it lit up for a day or so. As I just said. Even when the light lit up though, it did not work.

Continuously. You hold it while programing.

question... what yr car? if it's a 96-98 and u have an aftermarket radio it will not work. you'll need a special radio saver harness and you'll have to hide ur factory radio in the dash.

locks don't need to by cycled.

Just hold the button on the dash, and hold the button on the keyfob for about 5 seconds.

Bam...done. I used to program my remote to freinds cars when they weren't paying attention its that quick and easy. And I would mess with their cars just to tease them.

check to see if ur radio is plugged into the green harnesses behind it. it could just be that the person before u had an aftermark radio and decided to put the factory radio back in before selling it.

You can't have it pop the trunk. We don't have an actuator there.

And option turns the horn on/off when you hold it down. That is it's purpose.
