1998 Civic - Keyless remote has stopped working

1998 Civic - Keyless remote has stopped working
My keyless remote stopped working. I have changed the battery (and programmed per the owners manual), checked the fuse...still it won't work. The light on the remote does light up when the button is pushed. Any suggestions on what could be wrong?
