How much can stock LS block handle boosted??
With everyone on HT there has to be some serious boosted LS tegs.. On stock block and internals whats the highest psi you have tuned at?
It's not really a matter of how much PSI you boost, but how much whp the car can handle. The stock LS can handle around 300whp on average (some people can tune it better and get more hp). I heard that the LS can do 8 PSI, which is bs. There are quite a bunch of people here with boosted LS hitting 10+ PSI. I think adseguy here is doing 16 PSI, stock block...hitting around 280whp I think. It all depends on the tune and setup.

True... I ran 7 on my stock LS and blew the **** out of it... I didn't really have it tuned. Tuning is what makes it or breaks it

That would be the only answer

haha.....right! the roughest thing on the engine is starting up cold and revving. Power only accounts for 10% engine damage according to Corkey Bell, author of maximum boost. Now if you have a bad tune throw all that out the window
. I have 300whp at 16PSI--check sig and tuned it myself. She runs great and will continue to run great for a LONG time
.
I'd say shoot for around 280whp and you'll be set. The most important part is your tuner by far.

i have a friend (99lspwr) that lives down the road...he had a 92 hatch with my old integra motor..usdm with 175,000 on it with stock internals...running a greddy 18g with an safc and wideband...he ran it like every week down the track for like a year and a half and pushing 17 psi...never had 1 problem with it...ran mid 11s all day its all about tuning these motors will handle a lot if u just make sure ur air/fuel is properly tuned to eliminate detonation...detonation is the killer of turbo honda...it will **** up piston heads in not time..this is why some people running 6 or 7 psi grenade in 1 run...and others run 17-20 and have no problems...invest in a wideband to help u make sure ur air/fuel is str8 while increasing boost and pwer...its 300 bucks new and will save ur motor if u know how to use it
..p.s u can im him and ask how he was tuning it but he likes men... j/k frank if u read this..u know i love ya

well as most people say, tuning DOES make or break the power output and the reliabilty of your motor... i would honestly only run low boost on a stock ls motor because of the weak honda rods that the LS motor is accompanied by... if you build up the block though and put some better rods and pistons in there the more will be much more reliable and more prone to holding higher boost safely.. not to mention youll be making more power.
booo..b series motors can handle much more than u think.... as long as u know the limits and potential of the motor and are good at tuning and understanding tyhe operation you can run high boost safely...also the rods and bolts are not the best in the world...resleeving and new rods would be safer...but a stock block will handle the power
This is why the Integra Forum should never mention the word turbo. **** flies everywhere and I always have to clean it up! GHEYNESS to the MAXX. READ UP OR SHUT THE **** UP!

Listen, I'm not trying to start anything, but I come in this forum once in a while and you can agree with me a lot of turbo talk in here is just sooooo false. I try my best to help clarify or stop the spreading of horrible rumors.
I answered the post honestly and to my "pretty good" knowledge I'm right. This is pretty basic stuff to me and I'd like to help people out, but when people blurt things like "no more then 10PSI" or "the stock rods won't hold up they are the weakest" I want to cry.
