usdm vs jdm cams
4th Gen JDM have a slightly more aggressive profile. 5G jdm and 5G usdm are slightly different as well. If you were going to replace your cams, I would use JDM 5G cams.

*shrug* maybe someone has actually measured the USDM and JDM cams (exl. Type-S), but one could probably explain away the 10hp difference with the increased CR (10:1 to 10.6:1)

Ummm...no...like Featherfire said, the difference is in the compression ratio.

well Ill look around for the lift specs sometime, ive seen them before but cant remember where atm..
Also, the 10hp difference is mostly from the compression ratio and the tune of the ECU..

ummmm.....no.....like i said, its in the cams also....
.6 in compression does not pick up 10 hp....
bigger cams and higher compression work together for more hp, one or the other would pick up hp, but honda would never do just half of the work, they would redo the whole thing to make them suit each other....

This guy had it right, the compression ratio and the tune of the ECU (Because they have higher octane gas in JDM land so it can be tuned more aggressively)

but like mgags7 said the cams are slightly more aggressive. they wouldnt just bump the compression. if you see now a days with the newer honda motors when they get bumped 10hp or so they slightly bump compression and the cam profile and of course remap the ecu's to compensate

possibly.
possibly.
