Timing belt/over heating qs
We replaced the timing belt, water pump and other accesory belts on my dad's 1995 Accord V6. Car idles pretty bad, around 500 and the car lags horribly and has no acceleration. Also it started overheating pretty bad too.
My guess is there is an air bubble in the cooling system that is causing it to overheat and the timing is off or some of its not firing on all cylinders which is causing the lag. Is there any way to adjust the timing without actually ripping the whole thing apart and moving the cogs manually and making sure they are lined up.

The short answer to what your asking is Adjust / NO, Inspect / YES.
The odds on favorite is that you're correct, it sounds retarded (as in cam timing retarded) and retarded cam timing would cause Retarded Ignition Timing as well.
There are two upper cam covers with I believe can be removed (without pulling off the whole shebang) which should allow you to recheck the cam alignment.
I would start there.
What happens next will be determined by what you report

The upper covers have inspection plugs that can be removed so the cam timing can be checked without removing the covers. A small mirror helps to get good angle to see the marks.
